Barclays has made a strategic investment in Ubyx Inc., a U.S.-based clearing system specializing in tokenized deposits and regulated stablecoins. The MOVE underscores the growing institutional interest in blockchain-based financial infrastructure.

"Interoperability is essential to unlock the full potential of digital assets," said Ryan Hayward, Head of Digital Assets at Barclays. The partnership aims to bridge traditional finance with emerging tokenized ecosystems through Ubyx's global clearing network.

Ubyx CEO Tony McLaughlin emphasized the need for bank participation in digital wallet ecosystems, stating their mission is to build "a common globalized acceptance network" for regulated digital money.

The investment comes amid accelerating regulatory clarity for digital assets across major jurisdictions, with particular focus on stablecoins and tokenized banking products.
